Unlock 1.0 | Guidelines for a Phased Re-Opening | COVID - 19 Updates India


In Unlock 1.0 the Government of India takes measured steps into re-opening the country in phases. The Ministry of Home Affairs' Order No. 40-3/2020-DM-I A dated May 30, 2020, gives details about the same. We've tried to collate important government and informative resources in an attempt to understand the guidelines better.


From 01.06.2020 below mentioned are phased wise re-opening of activities -
  • Within Containment Zones, #Lockdown restrictions to continue till 30.06.2020;
  • #Unlock1 All activities to be relaxed in a phased manner outside containment zones, as per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare guidelines;
  • Individual States may impose restrictions/prohibit activities as per assessment.

PHASE ONE 

The following activities will be allowed w.e.f. June 8, 2020, with official standard operating procedures (SOP). 
  • Office - SOP on preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in offices;
  • Religious places and places of worship for the public - SOP on preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in religious places/places of worship;
  • Restaurants - SOP on preventive measures in Restaurants to contain the spread of COVID-19 in hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services;
  • Hotels and other hospitality units - SOP on preventive measures in hotels and other Hospitality Units to contain the spread of COVID-19
  • Shopping Malls - SOP on preventive measures in shopping malls to contain the spread of COVID-19. 

PHASE TWO

Schools, colleges, educational/training/coaching institutions, etc, will be re-opened after assessing the current situation and in consultations with States and Union Territories (UT). Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will be issuing standard operating procedures and the re-opening decision will be taken in the month of July 2020.

PHASE THREE  

The dates for –restarting the following activities will be decided based on the assessment of the situation - 
  • International Air Travel for passengers, as permitted by MHA;
  • Metro Rail;
  • Cinema Halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places;
  • The central government also plans to permit social/ cultural/ political/ religious/ academic functions and other large congregations in this phase.
