The World Resources Institute observed that India with a number of its neighboring countries ranked in the top 50 for the world's most water stressed countries projected for 2040. This year’s theme of World Wildlife Day is “Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet”, the objective is to highlight the role of forests, forest biodiversity, and ecosystems and sustain the livelihoods of millions of people globally, especially the indigenous communities. The total forest area around the world is approximately 4.06 billion hectares, or approximately 5000 sq.m. (or 50 x 100m) per person, but forests are not equally distributed around the globe.
